A New World

I have no doubt that the global crisis now facing us in the form of huge financial, ecological and social problems is basically a crisis of consciousness. It is the human ego with its destructive thoughts and feelings and insatiable greed that stands in the way of a new and better world.

The battle scenes and the misery we see all over the world are however reflections of our inner, mental states. In order to raise our consciousness above the egoic mind, a shift in brain function is necessary.

In the process of brain evolution (which is still going on) the frontal lobes will be energized and evolve to a higher level. This in turn will result in an opening up of more neural connections between the right and the left brain leading to a much better integratrion of the two cerebral hemispheres.

The new brain provides a new heightened state of awareness where the mind becomes very quiet, perceptions get more vivid and real, there is a loss of interest for the past and the future since all focus is in the present. Behaviour becomes much more spontaneous and intuitive, and there is an increase in one’s love, compassion and concern for other people and their well being. This new brain, I believe, can potentially transform the world to a much better place for humans to live in.

We could have a world without wars, terrorism, crime, and starvation - a world without fear, greed, and exploitation, - a peaceful world, where people help each other, a world where most people have enough and very few have too little. I believe such a world is possible if we have the vision and the will to see it and believe that it is possible.
